The charity work first started in September 2004 with the sponsorship of Sujeet's education (a boy from Kathmandu). The money was raised by a sponsored trek to Everest Base Camp. Over the next couple of years fundraising continued and help was given to other Nepali families and also a Kathmandu orphanage. In January 2007 following a request to help a village school the Charity was formally registered with the UK Charity Commission. The Charity was founded as a family affair and the trustees are David and Doris Allen (living near Cardiff), and their daughters Samantha (living in Kathmandu) and Nicola (living in London). Raju Tamang, Samantha's husband, represents the Charity in Nepal, identifying families and schools that need help and managing the projects. Our proud boast is that every penny raised goes directly to Nepal for the benefit of the disadvantaged children with nothing deducted in the UK for admin or expenses.
